| Beschrijving keerzijde | A plain cross extends to the inner circle and intersects the surrounding legend, dividing the reverse into four quarters. Each quarter contains a pair of pellets (speckles) and a group of three bezants (roundels), arranged symmetrically on either side of the cross arms. The peripheral legend, rendered in Gothic uncial script, identifies the Montfort dynastic claim and the territory of Brittany. The overall design is consistent with Breton feudal gros coinage of the reign of Jean IV de Montfort. |
