| Reverse description | Central long cross pattee within a beaded inner circle, dividing the inner field into four equal quadrants. A secondary legend band between the inner beaded circle and an outer beaded border reads MONETA RVERMVN, identifying the Roermond mint. The outermost legend, separated by a further beaded border, carries the devotional inscription BNDICTV SIT NOME DNI NRI IHV XPI — a formula common to Low Countries groschen of the period, invoking a blessing on the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The overall reverse design closely follows the type of the French gros tournois. |
