Reverse description The reverse displays a crowned heraldic shield or armorial device centrally positioned within the field, consistent with the arms of the lords of Anholt, rendered in the flat, stylised Gothic manner characteristic of early 15th-century hammered silver coinage of the Low Countries. The central device is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by two concentric Latin legends in uncial script: the outer legend records the date in full Roman numerals (ANNO DOMINI MILLESIMO CCCC XXVII, i.e. 1427), while the inner legend identifies the mint authority as MONETA DE AENHOL', denoting the monetary issue of Anholt. Pellets and annulets serve as word separators throughout the legends. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregularity and surface granularity of hand-struck medieval silver.
