| Obverse description | Within a cusped octofoil, a crowned double-tailed lion rampant to the left occupies the central field. The design is enclosed by two concentric pearled circles, between which the circumferential legend is inscribed in Gothic uncial characters. The overall style is characteristic of mid-fourteenth-century Low Countries hammered silver coinage. |
