| Obverse description | Central field features the Gothic 'H' monogram of Hainaut, rendered in high relief within a cusped polylobe or multifoil frame composed of rounded lobes, itself set within a plain inner circle. The monogram is boldly executed in the Gothic architectural style characteristic of late 14th-century Low Countries coinage. A beaded or plain border separates the inner device from the outer circular legend. The circumferential legend, read clockwise, identifies the issuer as Duke Albert, Count of Hainaut, with word separators rendered as pellets or crosses. |

| Reverse description | A bold short cross pattee divides the reverse into four quadrants, its arms extending to an inner beaded or plain circle. Within the angles of the cross, segments of the interior legend 'MONETA VALENS' are distributed across the four quadrants. A second, outer circular legend carries the devotional inscription 'BENEDICTVS SIT NOMEN DOMINI NOSTRI', separated from the interior legend by a raised circular fillet. The overall design follows the standard Hainaut gros type, consistent with late medieval Low Countries monetary tradition. |
