The lion is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which runs a decorative border of eleven stylised leaves set within lobed arches or circles. The circumferential legend, commencing with a small eagle serving as a punctuation mark, runs between the inner beaded circle and the outer beaded rim. |

| Mô tả mặt sau | A bold cross pattée extends to the inner beaded circle, dividing the field into four quarters and separating the interior legend into four segments. A small annulet or pellet marks the centre of the cross. The interior legend names the issuing count, while the exterior legend, running between the inner and outer beaded borders, carries the devotional Benedictus formula in abbreviated Gothic lettering. The overall composition follows the standard gros tournois-derived layout prevalent in the Low Countries during the first half of the 14th century. |
