Reverse description A floriated cross occupies the central field, its four arms terminating in trefoil or floral finials and flanked by fleurs-de-lis and rosette ornaments in each quarter, creating an elaborate Gothic decorative composition. A central pellet or roundel marks the crossing of the arms. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the circumferential legend in Gothic uncial script running between the inner ring and the irregular toothed outer rim, attesting to the mint city of Hasselt.
