Reverse description A floriate triple cross dominates the reverse field, its arms terminating in stylised floral or trefoil finials, characteristic of Gothic ecclesiastical coin design of the period. The cross is set within a plain inner circle, with the surrounding legend occupying the outer annulus between two beaded borders. The die is struck on an irregularly shaped flan, consistent with hammered coinage of the 14th century. The image visible shows the elaborate cross with ornamental flourishes at each arm terminus, lending the design an architecturally Gothic appearance.
