| Reverse description | A plain cross divides the reverse field into four quarters, with an annulet positioned in the first and fourth angles and three bezants (pellets) arranged in the second and third angles. A continuous Latin legend encircles the design within a beaded circle, reading BARCINO CIVITAS followed by the date, identifying the mint city of Barcelona. The date is partially rendered with a Z replacing the numeral 3, a convention common in contemporary Catalan coinage. The overall composition follows standard Barcelona mint practice for hammered silver issues of the early seventeenth century. |
