| Obverse description | Crowned bust of Ferdinand II facing left, wearing a crown adorned with fleurs-de-lis, with flowing hair rendered in fine parallel lines. The effigy is set within a beaded inner circle, against a flat field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait reading FERDINADUS D G REX, identifying the king by name and divine right. The portrait is executed in the late Gothic style characteristic of Aragonese and Catalan coinage of the period. |
