Reverse description A long central cross divides the reverse field into four quarters, with an annulet ornament placed in the first and fourth angles and three bezants (pellets) arranged in the second and third angles. A circular Latin legend bearing the city name and date is contained between two beaded circles, following the traditional medieval Barcelona municipal coinage design. The overall composition reflects the conservative heraldic style maintained by the Barcelona mint during this transitional period of Catalan resistance to Bourbon rule.
