Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the arms of Heinsberg — a quartered or composite shield — are superimposed upon a cross pattée whose limbs extend to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quarters. The shield is rendered in low relief typical of hammered billon coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend runs between the inner and outer beaded borders, identifying the issuing prince-bishop.
