Three crowns are distributed around the shield at the upper left, upper right, and base, all contained within an inner beaded circle. The surrounding circular legend, in Gothic-influenced Latin capitals, reads FRANCISCVS DEI GRA FRANCO REX, separated by mullets or stops, running between the inner and outer borders of the coin. |
