Great Moravia left no confirmed surviving coinage from its ninth-century existence — a fact that has long frustrated numismatists and historians alike. What circulated there were Carolingian and Byzantine issues, along with jewelry-weight silver. "Gorazd's Moravian Denarius" is a modern commemorative concept piece, named for Saint Gorazd, the Moravian-born disciple of Methodius who briefly led the mission after his teacher's death in 885 before being expelled by the Frankish clergy.
Pewter composition places this firmly outside any pretense of bullion or numismatic investment value. A curiosity piece, nothing more.
