| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse depicts a standing frontal figure of Saint John the Baptist, the patron saint traditionally associated with Florentine goldgulden coinage, shown in long robes with a nimbus, raising one hand in benediction. The figure is rendered in the flat, linear style characteristic of mid-14th century Silesian hammered coinage. A surrounding circular legend in Latin uncial script reads S IOHANNES B, identifying the saint. Wenceslaus I ruled Liegnitz-Brieg as a Piast duke under Bohemian suzerainty, and this gulden was struck during a period when Silesian dukes were actively mimicking Rhenish and Florentine gold coinage to facilitate trade along the Oder corridor. The type follows the florin standard that had swept Central Europe after the 1330s, reflecting the commercial ambitions of a minor duchy punching above its weight in regional commerce.
Kopicki 4907 is among the rarer Silesian ducal gold issues. Few Piast-held duchies produced gold at all during this period.
