Obverse description Enthroned facing figure of King Sigismund depicted in high medieval style, seated on an ornate throne and wearing an imperial crown, rendered in bold relief characteristic of early 15th-century hammered goldgulden coinage. The king holds a sceptre in his right hand and an orb in his left, with flowing robes spread across the throne. A small cross appears to the upper right of the figure. The circular Latin legend SIGISMVNDVS RO RX runs around the periphery, identifying him as King of the Romans. The field is irregular and the coin displays the typical broad, slightly uneven fabric of hammer-struck gold coinage of the period.
