| Obverse lettering | + RVPERT ROM REX SP AVGVS (Translation: Rupert, king of the Romans always August.) |
| Reverse description | Standing full-length figure of Saint Bartholomew, patron saint of Frankfurt, depicted frontally in long robes, holding a book in his left hand and a knife — the instrument of his martyrdom — in his right. A nimbus surrounds the saint's bearded head, and small decorative elements flank the figure within the beaded inner circle. The reverse legend in Gothic Latin script runs along the outer margin between double beaded borders, identifying the Frankfurt mint. The overall treatment reflects the Florentine goldgulden prototype adapted to local iconographic tradition. |
