Obverse description Full-length figure of Saint Luke standing facing, vested in episcopal robes and wearing a mitre, holding an imperial orb in his raised right hand and a crosier in his left. The saint is depicted in a hieratic, stylized manner characteristic of early seventeenth-century Italian hammered gold coinage. The date 1622 appears in the lower field, and the legend encircles the design within a beaded inner border.
