Obverse description The obverse displays the arms of Fribourg — a crenellated wall with multiple towers rendered in bold relief — occupying the central field within a rope-bordered inner circle. Flanking the shield are the mint-master's initials F and B in the left and right fields respectively. A displayed eagle rises above the shield to the upper right. The surrounding legend reads + MO * AVREA * FRIBVRGENSIS F B, separated by star stops, with a cross pattée at the top of the legend, all between the rope border and the outer beaded rim.
