| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field depicts Garuda, the divine eagle, seated facing, with a conch shell (shankha) to the right and a chakra (discus) to the left, both iconic Vaishnava attributes. The figure of Garuda is seated upon the Brahmi legend, which runs horizontally across the central register of the coin. A purna-kalasha (auspicious vase or pot) appears in the lower field, while celestial symbols — sun and crescent moon — are placed at the uppermost portion of the die. The coin exhibits a lobate or scalloped border, characteristic of early Indian dynastic gold coinage, with the entire composition rendered in the bold, schematic style typical of Sharabhapuriya dynastic issues. |
