| 裏面の説明 | A highly stylized Celtic horse, depicted in profile facing right, rendered in the characteristic La Tène abstract manner with disjointed limbs and globular body elements. Above the horse, a prominent crescent motif encloses a central pellet or dot, a defining type-characteristic of this Atrebatic issue. The lower field features a row of pellets and abstract linear ornaments beneath the horse. The composition fills the flan with bold, energetic Celtic draughtsmanship. No legend or inscription is present. |

The Atrebates occupied territory spanning modern northern France and, following cross-Channel migrations, parts of southern Britain — a geographic split that makes attributing individual staters to one side of the water genuinely contested among specialists. This quarter stater falls within a production window that coincides with Caesar's Gallic campaigns, which disrupted tribal minting activity across the region and likely compressed the effective circulation period of issues like this one.
The crescent type references DT#41 and LT#8590, placing it within a classification first systematized by Delestrée and Tache whose die studies remain the working standard for Belgic coinage.
