Reverse description Highly stylised, disjointed horse advancing right in the characteristic Celtic abstract manner, with a prominent triple tail terminating in pellet finials. Beneath the horse, a four- or six-spoked wheel occupies the lower field, a common solar or chariot motif in Dobunnic coinage. The vestigial charioteer's arm or driving rod appears above the horse's back. Depending on the die variety, the field surrounding the horse is embellished with short lightning bolt devices or irregular dashes, serving as decorative fill elements in the Celtic artistic tradition.
