| Reverse description | A horse advancing to the left in a vigorous, naturalistic stance, with a rider seated above, rendered in the stylised Celtic tradition with exaggerated musculature and flowing mane. Below the horse, the abbreviated legend AQV appears in the exergue, referencing the so-called 'Aqueduct' type classification. Additional pellet and crescent ornaments are scattered in the field around the horse and rider, a hallmark of Atrebatic gold coinage of the Vericean series. The flan edges are irregular and show the characteristic flan preparation marks of hammered Celtic gold coinage. The design reflects a transitional Gallo-Belgic artistic influence combined with emerging Roman iconographic conventions. |
