| Beschrijving keerzijde | A stylised warrior, rendered in the vigorous Celtic artistic idiom, rides a rearing horse facing right, brandishing a spear held aloft in the right hand. The horse is depicted with exaggerated, energetic limbs and a flowing mane composed of lenticular pellets and radiating lines, typical of late Iron Age British coinage. The inscription TINCO is distributed around the field, identifying the issuing ruler Tincomarus. The flan is irregular and the design shows the bold, abstracted draftsmanship characteristic of Atrebatic gold staters of this era. |
