Obverse description Plain field bearing a central incuse rectangular tablet with a raised border, enclosing the Latin inscription COM.F in bold, deeply cut letters. The abbreviated legend, reading Commios Filius (Son of Commios), references Tincomarus's dynastic lineage from the Atrebatic king Commios. The flan is irregularly shaped, as characteristic of hammered Celtic coinage of this period, with a slightly convex surface and a largely undecorated field surrounding the tablet.
