| Beschrijving keerzijde | A fully disarticulated horse rendered in the abstract Celtic style, moving to the left, with limbs and body elements dispersed across the field in the characteristic Iron Age British manner. The charioteer's arm is depicted in isolation above the horse, a vestigial reference to the biga composition of the Gallo-Belgic prototype. Beneath the horse, a prominent wavy-armed spiral sun symbol with eight anticlockwise radiating arms dominates the lower field, serving as the defining typological feature of this North East Coast Spiral Type. The overall composition reflects the advanced stage of decorative abstraction characteristic of Corieltauvian coinage of the mid-first century BC. |
