Obverse description Stylised corn ear rendered without a central stalk, displayed vertically in the field. The abbreviated legend CV to the left and NO to the right flanks the central motif. Scattered across both sides of the design are exploding poppy heads depicted with radiating pellets representing dispersed seeds, a characteristic decorative element of Cunobelinus coinage. The composition is executed in the flowing, abstract Celtic artistic tradition typical of late British Iron Age gold quarter staters.
