Reverse description A prancing horse depicted in left-facing profile, rendered in the vigorous and schematic Celtic artistic tradition; the animal is shown with raised forelegs, a pronounced arched neck, and a flowing tail, with limbs articulated in an energetic, stylized manner. Below the horse, the inscription CVNO is boldly incuse in Latin capitals, constituting an abbreviation of the royal name Cunobelin. A small annulet or pellet motif appears to the lower right of the legend. The border is formed by a beaded or pellet ring, and the flan exhibits the characteristic irregular contour of struck Celtic gold staters.
