| Obverse description | Stylized ear of wheat or barley rendered in high relief occupying the central field, depicted with characteristic Celtic abstraction; the grain head is shown frontally with a central spine and lateral grains radiating symmetrically. The letters A and M flank the stalk to the left and right respectively, forming part of the CAMV mint signature. A decorative triple-pellet or trefoil ornament appears at the base of the stalk. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of Celtic hammered gold coinage of this period. |
