The "Qd Plain" designation marks this as one of the uninscribed issues predating the adoption of Latin lettering by Atrebatic rulers — a transition that accelerated sharply after Caesar's two expeditions to Britain in 55 and 54 BC forced tribal leaders into new political relationships with Rome.
