| Beschrijving voorzijde | Highly stylised and abstracted rendering of a laureate head derived from a Macedonian prototype, presented in characteristic British Celtic La Tène artistic style. The facial features are disintegrated into a dynamic arrangement of curved lines, pellets, and whirling scrollwork, with the distinctive 'cheesefoot' composition — a broad, wedge-shaped lower facial area — dominating the lower field. Concentric arc motifs and raised pellets are distributed across the field, representing the remnants of the original wreath and hair of the Hellenistic prototype. The overall design is anepigraphic, with no legend or inscription. |
