| Beschrijving keerzijde | Christ, nimbed and draped, stands facing within a pointed mandorla formed by a double row of beads, raising His right hand in benediction and holding a book of the Gospels in His left. The mandorla is ornamented with eight six-pointed stars arranged around its perimeter. The entire composition is closely modelled on the reverse of the Venetian zecchino, with the legend distributed around the outer beaded border. The overall style is characteristic of French feudal imitative coinage of the mid-to-late seventeenth century. |
