| Beschrijving voorzijde | Heavily corroded and largely illegible obverse surface retaining traces of the abstracted Celtic design typical of Corieltauvi coinage, derived ultimately from the Macedonian gold stater prototype. The field shows vestigial curvilinear motifs and pellet elements characteristic of the late Celtic stylistic tradition, though much of the detail has been lost to corrosion and the degraded nature of the bronze core. The gold plating is almost entirely absent, exposing the base metal beneath. The irregular flan reflects the utilitarian character of this contemporary counterfeit production. |
