| Reverse description | A stylised warrior on horseback advancing to the right, holding a carnyx (Celtic war-trumpet) in the raised hand. A four-spoked wheel device is positioned behind and above the horse, a common emblematic motif in British Celtic coinage. The abbreviated inscription TASC appears in the field around the horse, beginning above the tail and continuing below the belly, rendered without a crossbar in the letter A, consistent with the epigraphy of the Tasciovanos series. The die-cutting is of reduced quality and irregular execution, consistent with a contemporary counterfeit of an official Tasciovanos gold stater, struck on a bronze core subsequently plated with gold. |
