Obverse description Central motif of a stylised corn ear or plant with prominent pellets arranged along a central stalk, rendered in a bold, schematic Celtic artistic style. The inscription CA to the left and MV to the right of the central device flanks the design in the field. The legend is divided either side of the plant motif, reading CA-MV, referencing the mint of Camulodunum. The design is characteristic of Cunobelin's quarter stater coinage, with the agricultural motif occupying most of the flan. The flan is irregular and somewhat dumpy, consistent with hand-struck Celtic coinage of the period.

Reverse description A horse rearing to the right rendered in the schematic Celtic manner, with short dashes indicating the mane. Above the horse is a branch or plant motif, typically accompanied by a pellet or pellet triad in the field. The inscription CVN appears below the horse, abbreviated from CVNOBELINVS, identifying the issuing ruler Cunobelin. The composition is dynamic yet stylised, consistent with the broader tradition of Gallo-Belgic and British Celtic equine reverse types. The design fills the irregularly shaped flan, typical of hammered quarter stater coinage.
