The horse is rendered in the schematic, abstracted manner typical of late Iron Age British coinage, with vestigial anatomical detail. A partially legible inscription, possibly reading VI or incorporating a retrograde N, appears in the field above the horse. The overall execution is crude, consistent with the coin's identification as a contemporary base-metal counterfeit of the Tasciovanos Verulamium issue. |
