This specific Late Weald type, produced by plating bronze with gold, would have required the counterfeiter to work near the original mint's circulation zone to pass convincingly; the Cantii occupied present-day Kent, and the Weald provided both geographic cover and iron-working infrastructure adaptable to base-metal coin production.
