| Beschrijving voorzijde | A crowned lion rampant, facing left, is depicted seated within a four-lobed (quadrilobe) inner frame, rendered in the Gothic decorative style typical of Burgundian Low Countries coinage. The lion's mane and tail are elaborately stylized, with raised claws and a boldly modelled body occupying the full field of the polylobe. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding circumscription. The Latin legend in uncial characters runs continuously around the outer field between two beaded borders, identifying the issuer as Philip, Duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders. |
