| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field depicts a rampant lion of Flanders facing left, seated within an ornate Gothic architectural canopy supported by two slender columns, the whole surmounted by elaborate foliate and crocketed tracery in the Burgundian Gothic style. The lion, rendered with fine detail in its mane and raised forepaw, stands on a ground line above a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend, separated from the field by a beaded border, reads in Gothic uncial characters and identifies Philip the Good as Duke of Burgundy and Count of Flanders. |
