(Translation: Charles, Duke of Aquitaine.)
Reverse description A floriated cross pattée (croix quernée) occupying the full field, with a quatrefoil at the center intersection. The four angles formed by the cross are alternately filled with leopards passant and fleurs-de-lis, reflecting the combined heraldic symbolism of English Aquitaine and the French royal house. The entire design is enclosed within a tressure of Gothic arches, with the Christus vincit legend running along the outer border.
