Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Mantua and the Gonzaga-Nevers dynasty, surmounted by an elaborate ducal crown. Above the crown, the word OLYMPOS (rendered in Greek characters: ΟΛΥΜΠΟS) appears as a personal device. The full circular legend in Latin reads CAR DVX NIV PRIN MANTVAE, identifying Charles as Duke of Nevers and Prince of Mantua. The field is enclosed by a finely beaded inner border, with the legend running between the inner and outer rims.
