Obverse description Full-length effigy of the crowned duke Amadeus VII standing facing, enthroned on a gothic throne, robed in regal attire, holding an upright sword in his right hand and resting his left hand upon the throne arm. The figure is rendered in high relief in the medieval hammered style, with the throne's arms visible on either side. A Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the central device within the coin's irregular flan.
