Obverse description Quartered coat of arms of France and Dauphiné displayed in the central field beneath a radiant sun, dividing the legend. The upper-left and lower-right quarters bear the three fleurs-de-lis of France, while the upper-right and lower-left quarters display the dolphin of Dauphiné. The shield is set within a tressure of small lis and surrounded by a beaded inner circle. The peripheral Latin legend, separated by lis and crown stops, runs along the outer margin of the coin.
