Reverse description A floriated cross pattée with a fleur-de-lis at the head and trefoil terminals on the three remaining arms, centered on a decorative boss, all within a beaded inner circle. The cross is rendered with fine relief detail characteristic of Louis XI's hammered gold coinage. The surrounding circular legend in Gothic characters reads XPS VICIT XPS REGnAT XPS IPAT C, the traditional Christogram acclamation, with the mint mark following. The field is plain and the overall execution reflects the refined engraving style of the Romans-sur-Isère mint.
