| Obverse description | Central field displays the royal arms of France — a shield bearing three fleurs-de-lis arranged in a semé pattern — surmounted by a royal crown. The crowned arms are enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the circular Latin legend running between the inner and outer beaded borders. A small sun privy mark appears above the shield, characteristic of the Ecu au soleil type. The mint mark 'G' for Genoa is visible at the base of the design. The hammered flan gives the coin its characteristic irregular, slightly uneven surface. |

| Reverse description | Central device features a cross fleury — a decorative cross with each arm terminating in a fleur-de-lis — occupying the majority of the reverse field. Four additional fleurs-de-lis fill the angles between the arms of the cross, creating a densely heraldic composition. The entire design is enclosed within an inner beaded circle, with the Latin Christogram legend circling between the beaded borders. The lettering is separated by small cross stops. The overall style is consistent with early sixteenth-century French royal hammered gold coinage. |
