Reverse description A floriated cross pattée with ornamental terminals occupies the centre of the design, set within a quadrilobe or four-lobed frame composed of curved arcs, each lobe adorned with floral or foliate embellishments in the Gothic manner. Small decorative motifs fill the spandrels between the lobes and the inner circle. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the circumferential Latin legend. The design reflects the elaborate Gothic craftsmanship typical of mid-15th-century hammered gold coinage from the Savoyard mint.
