| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped bust of Charles II facing right, with long flowing hair falling over the shoulders and elaborate armored dress visible at the truncation. The effigy is rendered in high relief in the late Baroque style. The circular Latin legend reads CAROL • II • D • G • HISP • ET • INDIAR • REX, identifying him as King of Spain and the Indies. The legend is contained within a finely toothed border running along the coin's rim. |
