The horse features a notably oversized, elongated ear, a hallmark design element of the Whaddon Chase type. Pellet-in-ring ornaments appear both above and below the horse, serving as decorative field markers. Sunflower or rayed disc motifs are placed above and below the horse, adding further symmetrical decoration to the composition. The overall reverse design reflects the confident, highly formalised artistic vocabulary of Late Iron Age Celtic die engravers. |
