背面描述 A disjointed, three-tailed horse leaping to the left, rendered in the abstract Celtic artistic style typical of southern British Iron Age coinage. A solar or floral symbol appears above the horse in the upper field, interpreted as a stylised sun or wheel-flower motif. A cogwheel or ring ornament is placed below the horse, and a ringpole device is positioned before the animal in the field. The composition fills the flan with characteristic La Tène curvilinear energy, with no inscription.

附加信息

The Ringpole series is associated with the transitional period before Commios established the Atrebates dynasty in Britain following Caesar's Gallic campaigns — these coins predate his arrival and represent the last phase of wholly anonymous tribal coinage in the region. The "ringpole" element, a distinctive structural feature of the flan, is thought to reflect continental Gaulish prototypes that were being actively copied and locally adapted as cross-channel trade intensified in the decades immediately before 55 BC.

ABC 554 is among the lighter quarter stater issues, suggesting either deliberate weight reduction or regional variation in the alloy standard during this period of political instability.
