| Obverse description | A stylised ear of wheat or barley rendered in bold Celtic plastic style occupies the centre of the flan, its central stalk rising vertically with sweeping lateral branches curving outward on either side. The naturalistic grain motif is executed in high relief with characteristic Late Iron Age decorative treatment, the flowing lines of the ear framed by the irregular flan edges. The divided legend CA-MV appears in the field, referencing the mint of Camulodunum. The design reflects the agricultural iconography common to Cunobelinian coinage, derived ultimately from Gallo-Belgic prototypes. |
